Real-World Partnership Success

At CIP, we have one mission: To empower industrial organizations to achieve excellence in safety, compliance, and performance.

Consider one of our standout success stories: A customer in Illinois received exceptional service through our collaborative network.

North American Refrigeration’s General Manager has long-standing ties to a company owner with a location in Illinois. When that owner called about a project in the Midwest - though he knew the project was outside of North American Refrigeration’s scope, he also knew just the company that could be trusted to get the job done. They were connected with Preston Refrigeration, headquartered in Kansas City, for the exceptional service they expected from such a trusted colleague.

This customer needed an upgrade to their aging ammonia refrigeration system. Preston Refrigeration was awarded the project and got to work right away, removing old equipment and installing updated machinery. They also coordinated the subcontractors and handled the startup of the job, including pump outs and tie-ins.

This project required a custom compressor skid. Luckily, through the CIP network, the customer was also connected to Highland Refrigeration, a company in Seattle that specializes in custom solutions like the one they needed. Highland’s experience in containerization and their supply line for bare GEA compressors allowed for a custom, multi-screw package to be developed to save space and energy. This system is contained in just two 40HQ containerized systems that can be stacked, all while increasing cooling capabilities to 456 Tons of Refrigeration at –20 degrees Fahrenheit.

All the while, CIP took the reins on the PSM and PHA, critical components in any ammonia refrigeration project. These processes are essential for identifying potential risks, protecting workers and equipment, and ensuring long-term operational success. They also support a smoother startup and simplified ongoing compliance with OSHA and EPA standards, giving the customer peace of mind and setting them up for sustainable, safe operations.

The end result of this collaborative effort is a customer with a new compact system that saved over 25,000 cubic feet and countless hours of downtime. By seamlessly transferring work between partners, each company delivers exactly what they do best – ensuring the customer enjoys uninterrupted, best-in-class service from coast to coast. All the customer’s project needs were met in a timely manner with no lapse in communication or quality of service. This is just one way CIP’s partners work together to achieve the best outcome for the customer.
